What does IFC exchange?
IFC is an open standard describing built-environment objects, properties, and relationships. A model that looks correct on screen does not by itself establish that its information is suitable for your project use.
Agree the exchange scope
Before exporting, agree the IFC version, intended use, and receiving software capability. Support varies by version and implementation scope. Test a sample in the recipient’s tool rather than assuming identical results.
Review a known sample
Select known elements and compare their location, classification, and required properties between source and received file. Record source revision and export settings. This sample check is a practical suggestion, not a substitute for project requirements or formal validation.
